More than 20 years ago, Philipp and his then design partner invented the type of glasses made of flat metal. Conventional glasses at that time were soldered and screwed, the new glasses were cut out of 0.5mm thick stainless steel sheet, then bent into shape and put together. With this simple and ingenious idea, the two revolutionized the eyewear market.
These first rough and striking glasses of that time were constantly developed and technically perfected over the years. To this day, our claim is to develop products whose technical solutions are beyond the manufacturing standards, which have a high demand on quality, wearing comfort, adaptability and are minimalist as well as avant-garde at the same time.
Our collections follow the logic of typography – from delicate like "Ultralight" to massive like "Bold". Our Ultralight Collection consists of a touch of stainless steel, while the glasses from our collaboration with Marcus Paul, for example, are combined with chunky acetate.
This allows us to offer a wide range of eyewear for all our customers.
Our signature rivet hinge is the red thread that ties together everything we do. Its simple and intuitive nature makes it a breeze to work with, while its subtle and filigree aesthetic is more akin to a piece of jewelry than a techy gimmick.
With a focus on supply chain independence and environmental protection, we have always designed, developed, produced and distributed our eyewear in-house, from our headquarters in Berlin-Schöneberg. We use recycled materials in many areas of production, such as our eyeglass case made of leather residue. Each pair of glasses is handmade with extreme precision and care.
